    While the obvious goal of running an e-commerce website is to profit from product sales, if you also own a retail store, there are many other factors that can contribute to your bottom line. Below you'll find a list of some of the benefits you can realize in owning an Earthstore:

    If you haven't began your e-commerce marketing plan for the 2003 Holiday Season, now is the time to get that "e-commerce living document" put to bed. By August, you want to have your e-commerce strategies and tactics humming and ready to position your Earthstore for your share of 2003 Holiday Season e-commerce. The outline below will help you get organized and help you to evaluate your market's conditions so that your e-commerce sales can be over the top in 2003.

    Earthstores.com e-commerce "Living Document" Marketing Plan Outline

    1. Background on your e-commerce effort to date
      • Who, what, when, where & how - Make note of the efforts you've made up to this point in e-commerce.
      • What has worked for you so far? What hasn't?
    2. E-commerce Competitive/Benchmark Analysis
      • Who is your key online competitor (ie, who would you most like to emulate)?
      • List the key reasons for this competitor's e-commerce marketing advantage.
    3. Situation Analysis
      • In your opinion, what are the problems you've experienced in your e-commerce venture? What has caused them?
      • Where do your e-commerce opportunities lie? How can you take advantage of these opportunities?
    4. Marketing Plan
      • Formulate strategies (the big picture) to neutralize problems and capitalize on your opportunities.
      • Formulate tactics (specific actions) to make your strategies happen.
      • Develop a realistic marketing schedule with specific benchmarks that will allow you to stay on schedule and track your progress.
      • Determine your marketing budget for the rest of the year, and make sure you have the necessary funds to execute your marketing plan.
    5. The "Living Document" Validation Process
      • Test your tactics, and revise your plan as needed.

    Keeping You Updated - New Features
    .
    In keeping with our practice of announcing new features in our newsletters, here are some of the new features you'll now find available with your Earthstore:
    • Category and Item Sorting Capabilities - In the Category Setup area of the Earthstores Manager you can now sort your categories using the 'up' and 'down' links available. This will allow you to place your categories in any order you see fit. In addition to this, you can also specify how you'd like the items in any particular category to be sorted. This can be done by the item name, item number, or item price (both ascending and descending order).
    • Expanded Transaction Capabilities - You can now use either the 'basic' or 'advanced' search criteria to search for transactions in many different ways. You also have the option of marking and tracking your transactions with various codes, and you can generate a 'printable invoice' for printing your transactions.
